June 29, 2007: Board of Trustees Regular Meeting Minutes

Abstract

Presented are the minutes of the 271st meeting of the Youngstown State University Board of Trustees on June 29, 2007. This was a regular meeting. The oath of office was administered to new trustee Harry Meshel. Dr. Sweet reported on the key accomplishments for FY 2007 in terms of enrollment increases, improved diversity, and expanded partnerships. Committee reports followed. The Board resolved: to confer honorary degrees upon Thomas J. Cavalier and Henry C. Robinson; to confer faculty emeritus status; to confer tenure and professorial rank upon the Deans of STEM and CLASS; to continue the Community College Evaluation and Assessment; to endorse the Academic Strategic Plan, 2007-2013; to accept development gifts; to name the Betty C. Nohra Student Resource Center; to approve interfund transfers; to authorize the purchase of properties for campus improvement; to approve the annual budget for FY 2008; to approve changes to the tuition schedule; to ratify faculty/staff appointments; and to confer emeritus status upon professional staff members.
