Academic Senate Minutes Meeting of March 05, 2014

Abstract

Chet Cooper, Chair of the Senate, presided. Amy Flick was introduced as the new Senate Secretary. Two search committees, the search committee for the provost and the search committee for the President, will run parallel, with the provost search lagging slightly behind to allow the newly appointed president to participate in the final selection. Mr Cannon reported on a meeting of the Ohio Faculty Council which focused on state funding for degree completion. Committee reports followed. Academic Standards Committee moved to modify the conditional admissions policy; General Education Committee gave an informational report; Library Committee reported on the current financial state of Maag Library; Undergraduate Curriculum Committee gave an informational report. Unfinished business referred to the Paperless Curriculum Submission. New Business included discussion regarding Dr. Dunn's departure from YSU, Ken Schindler's report on the domain project and announced Microsoft will end support for Windows XP; New Travel Procedures were discussed.
