Abstract: Faculty members at Youngstown State University took a vote authorizing the OEA-YSU union to issue a strike if negotiations are not met for the upcoming contract. YSU Physics and Astronomy department helped more than 5,000 people who gathered at the Mill Creek MetroParks Farm in Canfield, Ohio to view the partial solar eclipse. Wick Avenue is set to reopen this fall after over a year of construction. YSU launched a new mobile app to enhance the student life experience. YSU hosts a social media training for local businesses. The new bookstore, operated by Barnes and Noble, opened on campus. The YSU Marching Band held its annual Meet the Marching Pride performance on Saturday. The "Retrospectively Reimaging Cultural Landscapes" exhibition took place at the Butler Institute of American Art in Howland. Y Live featuring the Zac Brown Band concert on Thursday looks to be a historic event. The largest international class comes to YSU with 182 new students. Sports features the YSU running backs of the football team and updates on the YSU volleyball team and the YSU soccer team.
