dc.description.abstract | Dr. Chet Cooper of the Senate Executive Committee reported on Substitute HB49 and the YES Steering Committee. The Elections and Balloting Committee reported that they have all 70 faculty senators for the next academic year and all at-large senators who were nominated have been elected. The Academic Programs Committee reported on approved proposals. The Academic Standards Committee proposed and distributed a copy of the transfer credit appeal process. The General Education Committee reported on the First Year Experience program looking into adding some flexibility for transfer students. The Honors Committee reported on a standardized honors contract that can be used for honors students and the committee would like special recognition for Honors Students at commencement ceremonies. The Undergraduate Curriculum Committee approved 176 curriculum actions. The Program Review Committee report it was in its second year of the PR process and it looked at another 20% of the programs self-selected by the colleges and departments. Unfinished business pertained to the University's Posting Policy on political postings. In new business, the International Studies Subcommittee discussed new procedures for students going overseas; the graduate council would like to model their grievance process to the proposed undergraduate one with minor changes; and the Textbook Affordability Committee discussed the Open Text Network and LoudCloud. | en_US |
