Abstract

The YSU community urges students to vote in the midterm elections. Jared Vanasdale, a STEM major, discusses his transformation from rebellious teenager to success college student at YSU. YSU's CARE Team works to acknowledge concerns, through an online referral form, that may negatively impact students or the learning environment. The local chapter of the American Heart Association celebrated advancement in treating heart disease and strokes through its Mahoning Valley Heart Walk on Sept. 29. The case of the missing penguin from 1941 still raises questions. The YSU food pantry is now in collaboration with the Career Closet, and has a new location in the Lariccia Lounge behind Jamba Juice in Kilcawley Center. Stambaugh Auditorium is undergoing reconstruction with the help of engineering technology students and professional consultants. Fall Festivals, like Oktoberfest in Boardman, bring community members together. "Examining Youngstown: Innovation through Advanced Manufacturing" was held Sept. 27 at YSU's Williamson College of Business Administration to promote additive manufacturing in Youngstown. India McDowell, a pre-business major at YSU, professional model, actress, singer, recording artist, songwriter, rapper, photographer and editor, hit the runway in this year's New York Fashion Week. YSU football team is desperate for a win this week against Southern Illinois University at the Ice Castle. The YSU football program was selected to participate in the 2019 Guardian Credit Union FCS Kickoff, the fist game of the 2019 FCS season. The YSU men's basketball team prepares for the 2018-2019 season.
