Title: The Jambar : November 29, 2018
Abstract: The Youngstown Catholic Diocese released the names of 34 religious figureheads who were removed from the clergy over credible sexual misconduct allegations. Robert Hayes, senior business marketing management major, showcases his creativity through photography and videography. The Graduate Studies program held its 5th annual Diversity of Scholarships event on Nov. 15. The National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining has recently designated YSU as an alliance partner. A red and white vow renewal ceremony for Pete and Penny, YSU's penguin mascots, brought students, faculty and the Youngstown community to the Chestnut Room Nov. 20. The "Zero Tolerance" panel was brought to YSU to educate students and community members about how current immigration policies have affected local families. Postcard art from high schoolers are shown in Bliss Hall. Bites and Bits program at the Tyler Mahoning Valley History Center feature the history of Lanterman's Mill. The history of the GI Bill and its impact on YSU is looked at. YSU men's basketball sit at a 3-4 win/lose score. The women's basketball team sit at 4-2, second best in the Horizon League. Sports questions whether or not YSU should join the Mid-American Conference instead of the Missouri Valley Football Conference and the Horizon League. YSU volleyball team remains optimistic for the future despite a disappointing season.
