Dr. Gillis noted the importance of identifying student workers funded under SOC 140 and those eligible for and receiving federal work-study monies. Deans submitted nominations for the Scheduling Committee. An update of limited-service faculty usage was distributed. The desirability of requesting help from Students Serving Students in helping new student register was discussed. Plans proceeded for Career Connections "82, to be held on April 4. Dr. Gillis was working on developing criteria for Developmental Education students. There had been a decline in offerings through the Weekend University Credit Programs resulting in complaints. Tom Doctor saw problems in scheduling of large interactive computer classes. Purchase requests for equipment requiring competitive bidding were to be submitted by April 2. Grade reports would carry a notice to those eligible for Dean's list to pick up their certificate at the college dean's office. Program Evaluation comments were to be sent to Gillis. Most of the deans favored using graduate assistant for undergraduate instruction. Winter, 1983, was the date for implementing the proposed criteria for admission of freshman for Computer Technology. Business Technology students were to receive letters on the time frame to change over from the current 2+2 program to a baccalaureate program. Dean Ruggles expressed concern about the cumbersome procedures entailed in arrangement payment for temporary help. Former students seeking readmission to Engineering met the revised criteria for admission. |
