dc.description.abstract | Dr. McBride introduced Mr. Cossler, and discussed the OTTO (Ohio Technology Transfer Organization), which was intended to serve as a bridge between the community and the technology available from Universities and Colleges. Dr. Gillis discussed a survey of Ohio Universities as to the practices to Faculty Improvement Leaves."Common New Degree Interests" was discussed at the IUP Provosts meeting. Discussion followed after announcing two motions which were passed by the Public Ceremonials Committee regarding commencement. Final examinations on Saturday (winter 1985) have been a subject of complaints. Budget hearings are underway. Workload forms are being sent out. The selection of textbooks will be discussed at the next Chairmen's meeting. Dr. Ruggles reported on actions in the Athletic Council. Dr. Gillis reviewed the items for his report to the Academic Affairs Committee of the Trustees. Proposals for the use of the DeBartolo funds are due. A discussion of admission of Post Baccalaureate students for undergraduate courses was held. Dr. Scriven passed out two F-W faculty permission forms for review. Summer School guidelines were derived from five-year moving averages. The NIE Report on Excellence was to be dealt with by a composite group of four task forces. A committee of the Senate was readied to study the multi-faceted problem of Undetermined Students. | en_US |
