dc.description.abstract | Watson Award nominations were due April 23. Chairman's Leave applications were to be submitted by April 15. Each dean was to appoint one person to serve on the 1985-86 Computer Advisory Committee. There was an ongoing problem of students' not registering for ESL and other remedial English classes early in their college careers. Errors on the 1985-1986 Academic Calendar were corrected. Dean Ruggles described the brochure which contains descriptions of some 30 experimental summer offerings. NIE Task Forces was to have their reports to the Steering Committee by June 14. Dean Richly was disappointed at the small attendance of CAST's undetermined majors seminar designed for them. Dean Ruggles reported that the proposed new certification standards for teachers would soon be the subject of a regional hearing at the Mahoning County Joint Vocational School. The Board of Trustees was to meet June 7. The Chairmen meeting was to be held on April 16. Assistant Provost Scriven asked the deans to remind their advisors that all grades are counted when courses were repeated for determining University honors. | en_US |
