Abstract

The self-study was complete for the North Central Association Re-accreditation and visit logistics were being developed. An evaluation of the Under-prepared Students program was to be done before the end of the first year. A proposal for a Consortium Bio-Medical Ph. D. program was being developed and would be submitted through OBOR channels. Scriven reported weekly meetings of the Early Registration and Advisement Task Force. The Georgia State degree audit computer software package was ordered and development on the YSU system continues. A proposal to continue the Career Beginnings Program was sent to Brandeis University. The Provost proposed that a readmission fee be imposed on students who have been separated from the University for 4 or more quarters. A proposed schedule of Summer 1988 registration of new freshmen was distributed. The change of registration for Winter 1989 was discussed. The next OBOR meeting will take place at YSU on March 10 and 11.A request was received from ACT to participate in field testing of the Collegiate Assessment of Academic Proficiency (CAAP) test. The question of not allowing H&PE activity credits to apply to the academic portion of the bachelor's degree was discussed. Discussion on the Deans' Scholarships led to agreement that the application deadline will be December 10 and that awards will be announced after January 15. Budget deadlines are to be adhered to. The next Board of Trustees meeting was set for March 25. The Provost reiterated the policy of delivering conferences through the Office of Continuing Education.
