Academic Deans Council Minutes : June 07, 1988

Abstract

The Degree Audit Workshop for deans, department heads, and academic advisors was to be held June 23-24. Comments on the Deans' Scholarship brochure were received. A College Night in the Fall was suggested. Continuing Education was the focus of extensive discussion. Microcomputer Network plans were under development. Limited-service faculty allocations were to be sent out soon. Meeting schedules for 1988-89 were distributed. Copies of the supercomputer users' report was distributed. Once the final re-accreditation report had been received, the New Service would issue a series of releases on it. The new dean of Business was to begin July 1. The names of three finalist for the deanship of Fine & Performing Art is being submitted to the President. Work with Vice President Looby was needed to stimulate giving to the academic areas of the University. YSU needed to determine how to implement the new Ohio law that permits high-school students to take university courses and apply them toward their high-school graduation.
