There was to be a seminar on domestic violence for all administrators on March 19. There was to be a presentation today about conservation and ecological restoration by Kimberly Grey. Issues with turning in part-time faculty contracts on time were discussed. Marilyn Ward asked the Deans to look over the draft calendar of deadlines for summers school and let her know if there are questions or additions before she sends out the final summer calendar of deadlines. She also did an interim February budget report and handed out part-time faculty summaries for the Deans. Departments have been asked to submit three or more goals, including one for the learning outcomes they will assess this year and any additional goals. Because of HEI reporting deadlines and accountability formulas from the state, each institution would have until Sept. 15 each year to update its data on whether or not "in-completes" were turned into letter grades. The Academic Standards Committee reported on Banner handling the recalculation of the repetition of courses. Regarding the recalculation of grades, it was agreed that only the last grade can be recalculated-- not any other grade. STEM's admission criteria proposal was discussed. Dr. Khawaja reported on the Academic and Student Affairs Committee of the BOT. Continuation for a diverse pool of employees was to be done in every field in the future. Information was given to chairs about the federal law providing titles of textbooks to students by a certain date to allow students to shop around for better prices. Dr. Singler was designated "space" point person for Academic Affairs and serves as a member of the Facilities' Project Committee. |
