Ms. Hardy announced the attendance at the recent career fair dropped, raising concerns. Provost Abraham stated he anticipated that in the future, placement of graduates could be a factor in the funding formula from the state. He asked Council their thoughts on how YSU could do a better job in obtaining placement data. Ms. Ward shared with Council an updated draft of the new Workload Plan and Categories of Alternative Time crosswalks. According to a space utilization report, 15-20 computer classrooms were not scheduled last year, and some classes scheduled officially in one room were being taught in different rooms. The University needed to use the space and resources more effectively for students. Provost Abraham reminded the deans that a team of chairpersons reviewed the governance documents and made suggestions to the documents. Changes had to be made by April 1. Ms. Ward gave an update on the budget process for the recruitment of faculty and staff. Fall registration was looking good. The Board of Trustees approved the search for a new Executive Director for Maag Library. QUEST was set for April 4. Graduate assistantship renewals were due by March 31. The main goal of the Student Success division was to work on strategic planning. |
