dc.description.abstract Fifth Avenue construction continues into the start of YSU's fall semester. YSU updates its campus emergency plan. With regional, state, and national recognition of "The Jambar" newspaper, a new online media platform will be coming to the screens at YSU to highlight, community and campus news coverage, known as JambarTV. President Jim Tressel emphasized YSU's recent accomplishments, budgeting, enrollment woes and the YSU Board of Trustees' new initiative "Taking Charge of Our Future" in his annual State of the University Address. YSU students looking to incorporate exercise and schoolwork into their hectic schedules can now multitask through Maag Library's fitness desks. Lexi Rager, former student, takes advantage of the opportunities the university has to offer as a student and now as a faculty member. Renovations refresh Bliss Hall for fall semester. Female math majors multiply with representation at YSU. YSU's Welcome Week is featured. A vintage clothing store, Mel's Habitat, is featured. The YSU men's basketball team got an early start to the season playing three games of exhibition ball in Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. "Making a Statement" is the Penguin football team's MO this year. en_US
