Abstract

The Provost talks about way the university can be fiscally responsible in light of declining enrollment. YSU student, Gigi Vigorito, self publishes a poetry book entitled "With a Grain of Salt." The new Don Constantini Multimedia Center expands Stambaugh Stadium with radio booths, multiple press boxes and classroom space for the sports telecommunications program. The Diversity Enhancement Grant from the National Athletic Trainers' Association Ethnic Diversity Advisory Committee provided YSU's Master of Athletic Training program with funds to start an athletic training camp for high school students, educating them on why an athletic trainer on the sidelines is a necessity. The YSU Foundation set a record number of scholarship funds awarded to students. Tedx coach, Kymberlee Weil, offers free public speaking strategies to YSU students. Penguin City Brewing Company creates commemorative limited-edition beer cans featuring YSU's 1994 championship football team. The White House Fruit Farm's Fall Festival Weekends are featured. Rob Thomas ends Youngstown Foundation Amphitheater's debut concert season. A new mental health initiative at YSU called "Penguin Positivity Program" hopes to inspire positive and uplifting energy across campus. YSU's Inner Circle Pizza announces permanent closure. YSU softball warms up for the season. The cross-country team hopes to repeat another Horizon League Championship win. Horseback riding classes are now offered at YSU and held at Watkins Quarter Horses in Canfield. The YSU football team hopes to build from their strong start to the season.
