Abstract

YSU penguin's quarterback, Nathan Mays, ended his football career on his own terms. The Alpha Kappa Alpha Inc. sorority Delta Delta chapter is making a comeback at YSU after being inactive for two years. YSU launched new online degree programs this semester in collaboration with Academic Partnerships LLC, but the university may have overlooked AP's notorious history targeting universities with predatory contracts. The IT service desk on campus is changing along with technology with the five-year refresh program and including tech support help buttons on any computer screen. PAC (Penguin Ally Collective) links first-generation students of color with mentors during their freshman year. The chair of the Department of Politics and International Relations, Dr. Paul Sracic, reflects on his two Fulbright Scholar Awards. The Fifth Avenue construction project was pushed back from Spring 2020 to Fall 2020. Over 50 artists from Bliss Kids Collective used skateboard decks as their canvas to prove "Youngstown Wants to Skate," an initiative to build a skate park where the Youngstown BMX community can ride, grind and rail-slide safely. Jessica Morales, owner of the photograph studio Viera's Vision, held a women's empowerment photo-shoot on November 17. Homelessness is an unseen issue facing YSU students. Taylor Petit and Maddie Schires of the YSU women's basketball team both hail from Wisconsin and both were offered athletic scholarships to attend YSU.
