Presented are the minutes of the 364th meeting of the Youngstown State University Board of Trustees. This was a regular meeting. President Tressel noted plans for an electrical car battery plant in Lordstown and thanked the Board for its support in this endeavor. Presentations were made by Patricia Veisz (YSU Ohio Small Business Development Center), Dr. Jennifer Behney (World Languages & Cultures), Carla J. Colantone (senior – Dental Hygiene), and undergraduates Nadine P. Jones and Zachary W. Mayer. The Board resolved to modify support and assistance to veterans and service members; to approve the textbook adoption policy; to approve the University Remediation Report for YSU; to accept WYSU-FM memberships; to modify the policy on advertising/sponsorship; to adopt Take Charge of Our Future; A Plan for Strategic Action Community Engagement and Values/Mission/Vision; to amend and align tuition and fees for online and related programs; to reduce the out-of-state surcharge for the YSU MFA - Creative Writing Program (Fall 2020); to approve the 2019 Affordability and Efficiency Report; to approve interfund transfers; to renew and amend the internal audit charter; to ratify personnel actions (Athletics); to approve the Intercollegiate Athletics 2021-2025 Gender Equity Plan; to modify the policy on conflicts of interest and conflicts of commitment; to modify the Outside Consulting Services – Faculty Policy; to modify and retitle the Outside Consulting Services/Employment by Professional/Administrative Staff, Including Deans and Chairpersons Policy; to ratify personnel actions – Faculty/PA staff; to improve responsiveness to serious misconduct; and to approve Third Presidential Employment Agreement Extension and Second Amendment with YSU President James P. Tressel. President Tressel noted the passing of Judy Paydock (spouse of Joseph Paydock, chair of Military Science); Al Bright (professor emeritus of Art) and Sal Licata (father of Dean Betty Jo Licata). The Board concluded the meeting by wishing President Tressel a happy birthday. |
