dc.description.abstract Photograph of Army ROTC cadets taken during a Field Training Exercise (FTX) at Fort Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania in May 1986. The cadets are in formation and awaiting instructions. They are dressed in Battle Dress Uniforms (BDU) with load-bearing equipment. The cadet in the center is wearing a new PASGT ballistic helmet, made of Kevlar, while his colleagues are still wearing the old M-1 steel helmet. en_US
