dc.description.abstract The concert by the YSU Dana Madrigal Singers originally slated for Feb. 1 has been rescheduled for Feb. 21. Dr. Halim El-Dabh composed the original score for YSU's production of Aristophenes ancient Greek comedy, "The Birds." Three of YSU's strong academic programs have received special funding totaling $243,124 under the Ohio Board of Regents' Academic Challenge Program, Round Two. The program provides grants that are incentives for Ohio's public colleges and universities to strengthen graduate and undergraduate programs. Dr. Gratia Murphy of Hubbard, professor of English and coordinator of basic composition at YSU, will present the fourth annual Distinguished Lecture, sponsored by Chapter 143 of YSU's Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, Feb. 3 in Kilawley Center's Ohio Room. Three new counselors have been appointed to YSU's Career Services Office, and veteran coordinator Carol Cook has been assigned to work with business majors. en_US
