Abstract:
Fall quarter enrollment at YSU is 14,675, closely in line with the 14,730 projected by the Office of Budget and Institutional Studies. The previous year’s fall enrollment was 15,015. The University’s projection was based upon the population of area schools from which YSU draws its students. The YSU Trustees directed that a $40,000 gift from the estate of the late Judge Sidney Rigelhaupt be used to support the Center for Human Services Development. Judge Rigelhaupt presided over the Mahoning County Court of Common Pleas, having earned his law degree in 1926 from the Youngstown Institute of Technology (now Youngstown State University). A scholarship fund was established in the name of John W. and Lucille G. Fedor. Mrs. Fedor was a retired Campbell school teacher who bequeathed $300,000 to YSU to support students pursuing degrees in elementary education. Members of the Homecoming court were announced.
