Abstract:
A graduate assistant in YSU's Criminal Justice Science Department recently won second place for a paper she submitted to the Academy of Criminal Justice Science and Alpha Phi Sigma, criminal justice honor society. Bonnie Wright submitted the paper, "Sexual Harassment in the Workplace." YSU's dental hygiene program is going "on the road," thanks to an $11,050 grant from the Hine Memorial Fund. The money has been used to purchase a mobile unit which will provide dental services to those unable to visit the YSU Dental Hygiene Clinic on campus, specifically handicapped children. YSU's Biological Sciences Department received $115,000 from the Ohio Board of Regents as part of the Regents' "academic challenge" funds. Works from the second Amerian Impressionist art collection of Youngstown physician Dr. John J. McDonough and his wife will be displayed for the first time in this area at YSU's Kilcawley Center Art Gallery May 5- June 21. Dr. Lawrence E. Looby of Boardman, Vice President-Institutional Advancement at YSU, who is coordinating the Career Beginnings Program, announced that funding for the two-year program is being provided by a $100,000 grant from the Commonwealth Fund.
