dc.description.abstract The Faculty strike ends with a contract agreement. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, spring semester will have the same class modalities as the fall. COVID-19 cases jumped in the last two weeks. New measures are given when teaching CPR classes such as limiting class size and sanitizing equipment like the CPR mannequins before and after each use to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Guins Against Cancer continues the tradition of playing "bra-pong" to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Kilcawley Center. The Andrews Wellness Recreation Center at YSU challenged students to complete 25 push-ups for 25 days to raise awareness for National Suicide Prevention month, which was in September. The Student Nonprofit Leadership Organization (SNLO), is raising money to help local organizations in need through the Pay It Forward Program. Several religious institutions in the Youngstown area help students in need. Resources are given for student struggling academically. Many local businesses not far from YSU's campus are offering various fall activities on the weekends. Susan Jacobs, YSU alumnus and artist, painted 19 portraits in a series called "The COVID-19" during quarantine. Dr. Chet Cooper, Biological science, is the Faculty Feature. Emotional support animals help students through college stresses. Discrimination and lack of diversity are the most common problems women in the mathematics and sciences fields encounter. YSU"s Andrews Wellness and Recreation Center began to offer virtual fitness options at the start of the pandemic for those trying to stay active at home. The YSU women's tennis team has yet to have a schedule put in place for this season. This week in YSU sports history features the inaugural season of the YSU bowling team. Students give their perspectives on the faculty strike. en_US
