YSU celebrates Women's History Month throughout March with virtual events. YSU announced it will hold two vaccination clinics in Beeghly Center on March 3 and April 6. The EveryBODY Fashion show, a staple of the YSU spring events, will be held outside this year in the amphitheater. An interview with Steven Reese, English professor, is given on teaching and writing poetry. YSU's professor Thomas Leary is partnering with the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor to research through the curation 2 art course the cokemaking process within steel mills. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program at YSU helps to alleviate some of the tax fears, especially those of International students. Diversity forms a critical part of the curriculum, especially in the Beeghly College of Liberal Arts, Social Sciences and Education. Health majors tackle COVID-10 even though the pandemic complicates internships. The YSU football team gets its first win of the season. Seniors Avery Howard and Brooke Schaefers were crowned the 2021 Homecoming King and Queen. The peer tutoring programs at YSU have changed how they help students with their courses by transitioning almost completely to remote tutoring. After delayed and canceled sports seasons, YSU spiritwear is making a comeback among students. Several YSU athletes have entered the NCAA Transfer Portal over the last few weeks. YSU alumnus Jonah Karzmer recognized the need for an indoor golf facility and began investing in a location called The Bunker. The women's soccer changes approach by playing multiple formations depending on player availability. |
