Abstract

Voter registration for the 2022 midterm elections is over, however, for some voters who cannot make it in person on Election Day, there are other options like absentee voting and early voting. With candles lit and colors adorned, students of YSU celebrated Diwali -- a predominately Hindu holiday -- with rituals from across the world. Students complain of a strong sewage smell around central campus, specifically by Cushwa hall. John Hope Bryant, an entrepreneur and author, visited YSU to speak to students during the Thomas Colloquium Lecture Series. Students had the chance to meet Jamila Lyiscott and learn about culturally inclusive communications Oct. 20 in the Rossi Room of Kilcalwey Center. Students at YSU are improving Mahoning Valley neighborhoods through work with the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation. The Student Counseling Services are available for all students. Mill Creek MetroParks will work to restore and improve trails for hikers. The YSU Baja Racing Team is featured. YSU's men's volleyball club's practices are in full swing. The YSU volleyball team holds a record of 10-13 overall and a 4-8 in Horizon League play, heading into a tough four match road trip. The YSU men's and women's tennis teams participated in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Regionals October 20-22. Women's soccer celebrates senior day. Despite trailing by 10 points with just over three minutes left in the game, the YSU football team flew ahead to defeat Western Illinois University 28-27.
