dc.description.abstract YSU reported a 44% increase of international students from over 500 in 2018 to nearly 1,300 in fall 2024. A grant was awarded to the Dr. Madeleine Haggerty Dental Hygiene Program to enhance student learning. Popular hangouts and bars from Youngstown's past is featured. Tim Harrington, YSU alum and now the head of the newly created office of Strategic Communications, is featured. YSU's Athletic Department brought in over $64,000 from its facility rentals. The benefits of art therapy are given. YSU offers a wide variety of clubs that allow students to pursue their interest, ranging from entertainment to career-related goals. Caffeine intake in students is looked at. The Youngstown Playhouse has been a cornerstone of the Mahoning Valley for over 100 years. Musical theatre major, Brooke May, is spotlighted. Penguin City Brewing Co. is partnering with Build Your Own Breakfast for a fresh spin on the catered brunch experience. Local band. Jack and the Cadavers, is featured.The weekend losses in women's volleyball brought the Penguins to a five-game losing streak. Women's soccer win their final game of home slate. Senior Julia Marko ranked first at the Horizon League Individual Championships. Coming off of a three-game losing streak, the YSU football team looked for its first conference win against the Indiana State University Sycamores. en_US
