October marks the start of cybersecurity awareness month at YSU. YSU's Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is now the Office of Belonging, Empowerment and Engagement. YSU's approach to AI is to align AI with the university's mission to inspire, enhance and enrich the educational journey of students. The Cliffe College of Creative Arts has updated its curriculum and collaborated with YSU's Office of Career Exploration and Development to improve student career readiness. YSU currently has eight athletic programs for men and 11 for women, with the possibility of expanding to add more programs in the future. YSU's intramural sports draws interest from students, as well as fraternities and sororities across campus with a wide variety of sports. On YSU's campus, seven vehicle thefts were reported in 2023. The game-day experiences is looked at. The International Coffee Hour, hosted by International Programs Office, is featured. After being closed for nearly four years, the Butler Cafe has reopened its doors under new ownership. The Butler Institute of American Art is installing a sculpture on YSU's campus between the Butler and Maag Library. The YSU women's soccer team lost both conferences matches against University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Wisconsin-Green Bay. The YSU women's volleyball team dropped their seventh straight game in a row. The YSU football team fell to South Dakota State University 63-13. The YSU bowling team finished third overall out of 16 teams during the Penguin Classic Oct. 11-13. |
