dc.description.abstract Student Government president Ray Nakley painted a gloomy picture of higher education in Ohio during his report to Student Council regarding his meeting with the Ohio Student Association. Campus Police investigated a series of thefts. A YSU student worried for her parents in Poland, which was under martial law. State Senator Thomas Van Meter discussed his conservative and Republican views in his quest to be elected Ohio governor. Student Council adopted the use of voting machines to eliminate cheating during elections. Dr. Jane Simmons (Marketing) found in her research that advertising degrades women. Graduate school enrollment was climbing, with Education having the most course offerings. Student photographers were exhibited at the Kilcawley Gallery. Singer Norm Nardini was to perform on campus. en_US
