A “Solidarity Day” march, sponsored by local unions in protest over President Reagan’s economic policies, was held on Wick Avenue. A “phantom motion” calling for the abolition of the Heath and Physical Education requirement, appeared on the Academic Senate’s agenda and was claimed by no one. Trustees were concerned that only 2 percent of YSU’s student population hailed from minority groups. Student Council met for business, even though many seats remained vacant due to resignations and graduations. |
