dc.description.abstract Pulitzer prize winning columnist Ellen Goodman speaks to a large crowd at Kilcawley Center. The History Club sponsors a discussion of George Orwell's book "1984." A new organization called the Stonewall Union is formed to support gay students. Student Government is compiling a list of economical, convenient, and sanitary off-campus housing options. The Youngstown English Society presents A Mid-winter Medieval Festival. Two professors form a computer group for Commodore-64 users. Three women meet with Charles McBriarty, associate vice-president for Student Affairs, to discuss the goals and objectives for a new women's resource center on campus. Ozzie Newsome, football player for the Cleveland Browns, is on campus recruiting for the East Ohio Gas Company along with 1983 alumnus Mack Smith. Senior Dave Rivello won first place in a jazz composition contest at Central Michigan University. Michael Gelfand and Roman Rudnytsky,both faculty in the Dana School of Music, talk about their band "Amici Duo." The football team gets 14 new recruits. Bruce Timko helps the basketball team to a victory against the Akron Zips. Junior wrestler Rick Brunot is close to setting another record. en_US
