dc.description.abstract The Academic Senate discussed the proposed fine arts degree. Dr. Stephen Sniderman was named assistant to the dean of graduate studies, while Drs. Lowell Satre (History) and Stephen Hanzely (Physics & Astronomy) were named chairs of their respective departments. Ticket sales went well for the upcoming Sha-Na-Na concert. The works of artist Sam Gilliam were promoted, as was the musical composition “Suite for B flat for Clarinet and Piano” by Dr. John Alleman (Dana School of Music). Dr. Malcom J. Costa, the new director of developmental education, was profiled. Drs. Charles Alexander and Duane Rost (Electrical Engineering) provided testimony before Congress regarding the merits of solar energy. Dr. Patricia Tway’s (Sociology) studies of occupation jargon was discussed. en_US
