Abstract: Groundbreaking for a new student dorm is scheduled. The General Union of Palestinian Students held a rally in Kilcawley Center. History professor Keith Lepak assess the “collapse of Communism” in central Europe. Sergeant Major Abraham Johnson discusses the rifle range and marksmanship course. Students are recruited for the Ohio Youth Advocate Program. The Dana Madrigal Singers present the 4th annual Madrigal dinners. A local band, The Sharkbites, release a new album. Basketball player Steve Hanousek is injured and will be out 4-5 weeks. The football team will face the Furman Paladins in the 3rd round of playoffs. The last four pages feature a Decade in Review for the 1980s around the world and on campus.
