dc.description.abstract President Lyndon B. Johnson won the mock election staged at YU. In a brief visit to campus, Rep. Robert Taft answered questions in his bid for a seat in the U.S. Senate. Youngstown City Council accepted a Federal loan to begin work on the Project One, the university phase of a broader urban renewal program. Ten women vied for Homecoming Queen, including Malirat Saguansin of Thailand, the first international student to compete in a campus queen contest at YU. 300 hear a presidential debate sponsored by the Newman Club. Burglars attempted to crack the safe in the YU Cafeteria. The undefeated Penguin football squad prepared to meet Central Michigan. en_US
