dc.description.abstract Dr. Ward Miner was named chair of the YU English Department. Former English Chair Karl W. Dykema, dean of Arts & Sciences, remained head of the departments of Language and Literature, and Communications. Student Council voted down a motion to remove the editor of “The Jambar.” The Social Science Club symposium, “The Future of Youngstown,” was announced. Anthropology professor Dr. George P. Murdock of the University of Pittsburgh spoke to a huge turnout in the Library. Children’s textbook author May Hill Arbuthnot was scheduled to speak. The Youngstown Playhouse’s presentation of “Gypsy” was reviewed. en_US
