Abstract:

In the fall of 1963, YU experienced its highest enrollment to date with a tentative total of 8,650 full- and part-time students. Nevertheless, freshmen enrollment decreased by approximately 50 students from the fall of 1962. Philip J. Buchanan, University Registrar, attributed this decline to smaller high school graduating classes.
