Abstract:
As the Ohio General Assembly sought to pass legislation to aid colleges and universities within the Buckeye State, State Representatives Thomas J. Barrett and George G. Tablack proposed an outright grant of $800,000 to Youngstown University. Later, State Senators James Grose and Tom Carney called for an allocation of $1,470,000. If authorized, President Howard Jones stated that the money would be applied toward the university's campus redevelopment program.
