Abstract:
Under the terms of an arbiration decision, two departmental chairpersons, Dr. Sandford Hotchkiss of Psychology and Dr. John Cernica of Civil Engineering, were to be relieved of their positions effective July 1, 1976. The third, Earl Harris of Geology, was to continue in a probationary capacity. The dispute was triggered by a lack of confidence vote on the part of the members of the faculty assigned to each of the aforementioned departments.
