Universal Penguin Has Stars in Its Eyes

Abstract

"The placement of celestial objects on the dark surface of the penguin approximates a chart of the entire sky with the coordinates determined by the perspective of a viewer standing in Youngstown, Ohio. The theme also represents our university students--looking up and out to improve their lives or the lives of those around them. They have stars in their eyes!" An artist and illustrator living in McDonald, Ohio, Ludwig has a BFA with emphasis on drawing and minor in art history. She has exhibited in many area art shows, including the YMCA Women Artists: A Celebration, and the Area Artists Annual at the Butler Institute of American Art.
