dc.description.abstract	This photograph depicts a mother giving the Type II Sabin oral polio vaccine to her child during the immunization program in Youngstown in 1962. The program, which was sponsored by the Mahoning County Medical Society and endorsed by the American Medical Association, was reportedly the first in the nation. This phase of the project occurred February 15-17, 1962.	en_US
