Abstract:
Jim Morrison, Chair, presided. The Charter and Bylaws Committee elected Ronald Shaklee as chair of the committee. The Faculty Advisory to the Chancellor reported on other universities' and Chancellor Hairston's views on semesters vs. quarters and the system for compiling faculty-staff data. The Academic Standards Committee reported on a change in the upper division credit-hour requirement from 60 to 72 q.h., their review of the repetition-of-courses policy, and on questions they received in a memo from the director of admissions. The Curriculum Committee reported the first packet of approved courses is in circulation. An Academic Planning and Budget Committee has been appointed. The issues was raised about the street closing of Lincoln Avenue and the impact on the University and Community.
