Academic Senate Minutes Meeting of April 06, 1994

Abstract

Virginia Phillips, Chair, presided. A moment of silence was given for Dr. Gratia Murphy and Dr. Les Smith. The Charter and Bylaws Committee moved that the Honors and ICP Committee will have authority to approve an honors section of any course listed in the YSU Bulletin. The committee also outlined the responsibilities of the University Outreach Committee. The Elections and Balloting Committee reported elections for at large seats from the Colleges are to be held soon with nominations due as soon as possible. The Senate Executive Committee reported letters were sent to all administrative committee appointments, Senate replacements and appointments were announced, an Ad Hoc Committee will be appointed to study Experiential Learning Credit and Credit by Exam, and the committee is continuing to work on Academic Senate Committee Restructuring. Academic Programs Committee gave an informational report pertaining to the Physical Therapy program. The Integrated Technologies Committee reported that the computer center is understaffed; the need for a network service organization, and to decentralize computer labs away from Meshel Hall and into each academic building on campus.
