Academic Senate Minutes Meeting of November 01, 2006

Abstract

Sunil Ahuja, Chair of the Academic Senate, presided. President Sweet gave a report on a possible regionalization. The Senate Executive Committee reported on a timetable for Senate chair elections, the formation of an ad hoc committee to study tenure and promotion processes at YSU, the realignment of the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Engineering Technology, a future meeting with Mr. Neal McNally, the university budget director, and the replace of Bob Hogue on the Banner Advisory Committee with Annette Burden. Tammy King reported on the Ohio Faculty Council which discussed various topics such as major activities occurring on university campuses state-wide, adding Enrollment Managers to university administrations and general information gathering. Elections and Balloting Committee reported Sunil Ahuja will be Chair and Chet Copper will be Vice-Chair. Attachments from the Academic Programs Committee, Undergraduate Curriculum Committee and the General Education Committee are included on the agenda with approved courses and programs. New Business discusses the concerning possible realignment of the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Engineering and Technology.
