Sunil Ahuja, chair of the Academic Senate, presided. President David Sweet gave a report on various topics. Dr. Joe Edwards reported on the Provost Search Committee. Dr. Bill Jenkins reported for the Ohio Transfer Module and proposed a policy change relating to science laboratory courses. An ad hoc committee as been appointed to looking into the use and protection of electronic classrooms. The Ohio Faculty Council report focused on the Chancellor's 10 year Master Plan which emphasis access, quality, affordability and efficiency, and economic leadership. Unfinished business pertained to a handout on the strengths and challenges for the Higher Learning Commission's visit. New business consisted of the following: a report on the Statewide Placement Policy Recommendations from the OBOR;a set of COMPASS cutoff scores for Mathematics to be used at YSU; and a resolution of appreciation for the leaders of the Higher Learning Commission Accreditation Team. |
