dc.description.abstract	Chet Copper served as Senate chairperson since Sunil Ahuja is on leave this year. Nominations for Chair of the Academic Senate and for members of the Charter and Bylaws were held. Confirmation of Senate Secretary (Bob Hogue) and Senate Parliamentarian (Kathylynn Feld) was given. Provost Khawaja reported on Assessment, Strategic Plan for Higher Education, search committees for deans for the Colleges of Fine and Performing Arts and Health and Human Services, Academic Strategic Plan, and the Chancellor's Plan for Higher Education. The Vice President for Student Affairs reported on a tailor-made training for YSU on mental illness. The Senate Executive Committee and the Ohio Faculty Council gave reports. A list of approved General Education courses was appended to the minutes.
