dc.description.abstract Jim Morrison, chair of the Academic Senate, presided. The Senate Executive Committee reported it made most of the faculty appointments to the standing committees and is still accepting volunteers for a committee on the YSU Statement of Ethics. Dr. Shipka reported on the Ohio Faculty Council and motioned for a resolution to encourage increased funding of higher education in Ohio and asked the Governor and General Assembly to establish a Special Commission on Higher Education Funding in Ohio. Academic Standards Committee made the following resolutions: to replace lanuage concerning the Foreign Language Placement Test with new language; that all students in Associate Degree programs who, based on the Math Placement Test, are placed in the developmental math course (Math 1501) will be required to complete that course in order to graduate; and changes concerning the language on general education requirements for transfer and re-enrolling students. The Academic Planning Committioe motioned to accept the proposed revised Youngstown State University Mission Statement. The Integrated Technologies Committee moved to resolve that any University planning or decision making related to computer technologies should include major representation from the academic side of the University.
