dc.description.abstract | Presented is the agenda of the meeting of the Board of Governors of Youngstown College on November 12, 1940. Enrollment was up from 1755 students in 1939 to 1852 in 1940. A study was made to determine the employment status of Youngstown College graduates. The Board discussed the ramifications of the possible extension of Social Security provisions to YoCo and its participation in the YMCA Retirement Fund. The 1940 record of the YoCo football team was summarized. The University of Pittsburgh announced that YoCo credits would no longer be accepted, since YoCo was not an accredited member of the North Central Association. The Board announced progress in securing a building for the YoCo Library. A deal was made for the purchase of the Wick “mansion” from the H.K. Wick Estate. Changes in faculty were announced. Youngstown College was represented at the inauguration of six college/university presidents. Seven YoCo students received graduate fellowships for the 1940-41 school year.
