Abstract:
Presented is the agenda of the meeting of the Board of Governors of Youngstown College on October 4, 1939. Enrollment figures were presented. New faculty members were hired due to increased enrollment and the addition of new courses. The financial report was provided. New programs included those in Public School Music and Elementary Teacher Training. Remodeling at the newly-acquired property at 416 Wick Avenue was completed. Zoning within Youngstown and its effects upon the College were discussed. Approximately one half of the football players from the previous year were set to return in the fall. The U.S. Civil Aeronautics Authority designated Youngstown College as a training center for civilian aircraft pilots.
