Abstract:
Presented are the minutes of the meeting of the Board of Trustees of Youngstown College on October 30, 1951. Highlights include: A report on enrollment; the names of new faculty; an increase in tuition from $8 to $10 per semester hour; a report on scholarships available at YoCo; the creation of a committee to investigate the subject of student loans; approval of the purchase of the YMCA Youth Center building; a report on the costs for the new library building; the donation of the Ford property at 547 Wick Avenue to the College; a report on President Jones’ s visit to ROTC summer camp at Fort Bliss, Texas; a report on job placement by the YoCo Placement Office; the authorization for President Jones to approach Republic Steel, United States Steel, and Westinghouse Electric for potential candidates from these companies to serve on the Youngstown College Board of Trustees; and the auditor’s report.
